Around the age of 2 ½ years old, my daughter was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Years of healing through diet, integrative medicine, a focus on neuroplasticity and of course, chiropractic resulted in her no longer meeting criteria for an Autism Spectrum Disorder. She will continue on her path of healing and optimizing health, always keeping chiropractic in her arsenal of good health.

“Where do I begin? Everything about Dr. Rubin is breath-giving! His Team cares about each and every patient AND their aim is to make your visits healthy and happy.  I have been a patient for years - through back injuries, hip replacements and overall stress. Through his expertise and care,      I was able to avoid back surgery 2 years ago and I am forever grateful.  My recent hip surgeries (which were unavoidable due to lack of cartilage) have been challenging. Dr. Rubin adjusts his protocol to fit my comfort levels and I am now able to walk without a cane. Huge improvement!!!  In this very stressful world we live in, I find my weekly adjustments add a level of grounding and re-alignment that I would not want to live without.
Thanks Dr. Rubin, you are my hero.”

I have a very physical and stressful job, so I thought that back pain, knee pain, headaches, etc. were just a part of my middle-aged life. Finally someone convinced me to see Dr. Rubin with his gentle and thorough approach to chiropractic care. He helped me through the discomfort of kidney stones (which he diagnosed from my initial x-rays), alleviated the discomfort in my back and joints and got rid of my daily headaches. Wow! I felt great and started excercising. I lost weight, successfully completed an Olympic length triathalon and am now training for my first 1/2 marathon. With some occasional adjustments, Dr. Rubin has kept me healthy and strong for 2 years. There are no words to describe how thankful I am for how he changed my life!

Dr. Rubin and his staff came highly recommended by my midwives when I was looking for some prenatal chiropractic care, and I am so grateful and excited to now be a patient of his. It's important for me during my first pregnancy to be healthy and aligned, in both body and spirit. Dr. Rubin and the rest of the crew provide a high energy, conscious environment for you to feel safe, nurtured and understood. His service and dedication to others is clear when you experience it firsthand. Not only that, but he lives out the lifestyle he's promoting - it's rare to see healers actually walking their talk, and Dr. Rubin does that. I leave there feeling loved, healthy and inspired. It's so important to invest in your health and I'm overjoyed that there are people like Dr. Rubin to powerfully support you in that investment.

Today I give great gratitude to Dr. Drew Rubin of Rubin Family Chiropractic. We began slowly introducing solid foods to my little person at about 9-10 months when she began to show a true interest in solids. She ate on and off for about a month and refused to eat thereafter. Once she turned 1 year old she began to desire to eat but would take one bite and wouldn't want any more. Her nutrition needs had increased and she was breastfeeding as much as every hour and a half around the clock. I was exhausted. We tried everything from pureed foods made from scratch to soft fruits and vegetables to straight adult food. She was having none of it. My mommy intuition told me that there was something else going on. So I reached out to Dr. Rubin. We had our first appointment two weeks ago Monday. He gave her an exam and turned out she had some sensory issues, retained primitive reflexes as well as cranial issues. He adjusted her atlas, TMJ and T4 and gave us some home exercises to do. My little person began eating right there in the office. It was an amazing experience. We went back for our second appointment on Monday and it has gotten even better. Today (4 days after our appointment) she has eaten 1 halo, 8 seeded grapes, blueberries, raspberries, 2 bosc pears and a little beans and rice. Better yet, she actually took food from mommy and was actually chewing her food. We thank you Rubin Family Chiropractic for your expertise and service in pediatric neurological challenges. We and our little person are in great gratitude.

My baby and Dr. Rubin

My wife and I had a beautiful girl, born about 10lbs and we took her home and loved her as she grew. At about 10months we took her for her shots but once the needle got in her thigh, she writhed in pain and leaned/jerked back taking a deep breath as if to yell out a cry—and passed out. Cold. No visible breathing. No movement. My wife and the nurse stared in panic. I began compressions on her little chest and moments later she came to and started crying as expected. This was the first episode. It was scary, to say the least. Not being medical doctors we penciled this as an anomalous reaction to the immunization shots as we’d seen reactions in the news from various individuals after taking immunizations.

Some months later, (she may have been a little under two years old), my daughter was having a good time playing with her older brother on his bed upstairs. My wife and I were downstairs and heard a thump. Seconds later, our son called out, “daddy, come quick!” I was already running from the beginning of the first syllable not knowing what to expect.  My baby girl was out cold on the floor. A little CPR and she came to, complaining of a headache. (The room was carpeted; the boy’s bed was about 18 inches off the floor.)

There were other episodes from seemingly minor incidents like bumping heads with her friend when they were both about four, and others, like a basketball landing on her head from a rebound not triggering anything. There were several visits to conventional doctors who said she had a seizure and that they need to “observe her while she’s having an episode.” I wasn’t about to thump my girl over her head to show them and I had seen people in real life having seizures and her episodes were not seizures by any stretch.

I was sharing my daughter’s experience with my brother-in-law who is an Osteopath in the UK who suggested to me that with her having been a big baby, she may have suffered injury to her spine during her birth and some impact to her head, though minor, would be like whiplash causing her to pass out. This just made sense to me. In the US (Atlanta, GA area) we couldn’t find osteopaths so I began looking for a chiropractor (they’re similar in their practice but different countries have their terms). I found a list of them that had high reviews but one stood out, Dr. Drew Rubin—and he was also a pediatric chiropractor!

Our initial appointment went well for the initial checks of various tests and x-rays. He explained to me each test and what would be considered normal and how far off she was on some of them. Finally, an expert who could see the problem! We as her parents knew there was something amiss all along. Due to her hidden injuries we couldn’t put a bandage or ask for medicine as this was outside the help the conventional doctors could give.   Dr. Rubin showed me the curvature of her spine in her neck and the base of her head that was not optimal causing some nerves to be squeezed or blocked, which in turn had other effects revealed by the battery of non-invasive tests that he did.

I was ready for her to receive the first treatment right then and there! My insurance didn’t cover it, but I was ready to sell my car or house to get my little girl well. But cautiously, Dr. Rubin said that he needs to get an MRI so that he can see her soft tissue around her spine before beginning any treatments. While I was anxious to start the treatment, I was comforted by Dr. Rubin’s caution. This sent us on another adventure to get the MRI done. (I wish you could just walk in buy one like you could buy water or bread.)

With the MRI in hand, we were back in Dr. Rubin’s office. After review, the treatments were scheduled frequently at first because of what he would need to do and what “homework exercises” we had as well. He also noted on a card that this was a special case so none of his staff DCs or the interns he trains would give her any treatment so I could only go to the office when he was there. This time I signed everyone in my family for a checkup and got our series of treatments for three months.

As we continued with the treatments at the clinic and exercises at home, I could see the improvement whenever the evaluative tests where being done. To me this was great progress because first she was getting help, I could see the gradual results from the test results week-to-week, and she was getting better in her coordination and motor skills to catch up with her age mates. She could not run a sprint without stumbling or catch a ball from the air. Some of the things we take for granted like watching something move from our left side to right side, she had learned to cope with but now was getting easier for her. Ella had trouble reading or writing and would just get headaches after about three or four minutes and the teachers didn’t know what to do other than say she won’t read and didn’t like writing. In her condition I wouldn’t like to do anything that gave me a headache either. Now she enjoys reading and writing and doing crafts that require fine motor skills and anything else her little mind conjures up. Now she has no limits, none.

Thanks Dr. Rubin, and staff. May God continue to bless you as you ‘inject’ health into your patients and their families.

At 13 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy, I started having severe hip pain and wasn’t sure how I was going to get through an entire pregnancy. I started looking for a Webster certified chiropractor, found Dr Rubin, and called immediately. Within the first couple of adjustments my hip pain was significantly better and I was feeling more like myself. With regular adjustments this was now my easiest pregnancy of the three.

Then at around 34 weeks, the baby had turned sideways or transverse. Within 2 weeks of Webster adjustments, the baby had moved to and stayed in a head down position. Now I am only a week or so away from delivery and believe that the adjustments will help with delivery as well.

My daughter, who is now two, was born with double hip dysplasia so I wanted to make sure who ever adjusted her used a gentle technique and that she was comfortable with being adjusted. After a few of my visits and seeing other kids adjusted I knew the technique was gentle enough for her hips and signed her up for her first visit.   Dr Rubin and his team had been so good with her when she came with me to my visits that when we told her it was her turn to be adjusted she ran and laid down to get adjusted. She was ready and has been excited about going ever since. Her adjustments and exercises have helped her with toe walking and I believe have shortened a few winter colds.  We could not be happier.

My daughter and I love the Rubin Family Chiropractic team.

My son had a reaction to his first Dtap vaccine at 12 months after which he had complete loss of appetite, slept for very long hours and didn’t even want to nurse. He was losing weight. It continued for 2 weeks until Dr. Rubin did chiropractic adjustments on him. He was back to normal just after 2 adjustments from Dr. Rubin. He truly cares for all his patients. He listens thoroughly and gives appropriate advice. My son turned from cranky infant to active, happy and playful infant since the time he is being adjusted and I can’t be thankful enough to Dr. Rubin. He also treated my elder son for torticollis where even physical therapy was not showing results.  He is the best chiropractor and a savior.
